shopping

you can only spend it once

As you may know, I have a new house. I’ve received a couple of generous gifts which are basically gift vouchers and so I went to the shops on Sunday to see what I could find.

Fortunately, I found lots of nice things in the right shop. Unfortunately, I left the gift vouchers at home. This is even more of a problem because as I was window shopping, I found myself wanting many things that individually cost considerably less than the value of the gift vouchers but in total, add up to probably three times more.

The trouble with money is that you can only spend it once. I think I’m going to be disappointed when I finally do get round to spending the gift vouchers because I won’t be able to buy all the nice things that I liked yesterday.

Does anyone else have this problem?

  1. Yes! My boyfriend and I still have most of the gift cards we got for our housewarming 2 years ago (totaling $350). We can’t bear to use them up, though we’ve had no problem spending tens of thousands on the house out of our own money. So weird.
