Patrick over at cash money life is hosting a competition where you can win a 4 gig ipod.
To enter the competition, all you have to do is subscribe to Patrick’s feed (which is very good by the way) and then write a SMART financial goal for 2008. Check out all the rules here. But don’t forget, if you enter the competition, then I will be less likely to win the ipod.
plonkee’s smart financial goal for 2008
I mentioned before that one of my dreams is to work 4 days a week, and as part of that, I need to get promoted so that I can earn more money. My financial goal for 2008 is to obtain Chartered status (a measure of my professional standing) by the end of the year and use this to provide evidence to my boss that I am worthy of promotion in my subsequent performance review.
If Patrick doesn’t think that this is appropriate, I’ll think of something else to do as well. The ipod is in my sights.

Your goals are admirable and your post made me laugh! Beware, I too hope to win the iPod.
I already have one of those, so I’ll refrain from entering to increase your chances!
Not to worry, I didn’t pay for it, it was a farewell gift from my old area when I changed jobs recently.
Hiya Plonkee, of course it works. You’ve got a good goal. By the way, the picture of the iPod looks just like the one I am giving away - a brand new silver one!
The ipod is so close I can almost smell it.
I’m destined to lose, aren’t I
I’d love to be able to work only four days per week. Right now I’m working zero, which is good for free time and professional development but dreadful for the pocketbook. I do have a goal of getting an iPod for my husband so maybe I will enter this contest and snatch it away from you.
